Team Announced for Europe Triathlon Para Championships Tarragona
Ireland will be represented by a team of seven at the 2026 Europe Triathlon Para Championships in Tarragona, Spain on Sunday, 14th June, as the continent’s best paratriathletes battle for European titles. The championships form part of the wider Europe Triathlon Championships programme taking place in the city.
Men's PTS5
Leading the Irish challenge in the men’s PTS5 category is Tom Williamson, who returns to the European Championships having won bronze at the previous two championships in Besancon 2025 and Vichy 2024. Having had a breakthrough season in 2025, Williamson will be targeting another strong performance against a high-quality European field.
WOMEN'S PTVi
The PTVI Women’s race will feature twin sisters Judith and Chloe MacCombe, both among Ireland’s most experienced paratriathletes.
Judith MacCombe will race alongside guide Eimear Nicholls. Following an eighth place finish at the Paris Paralympics, the pair enjoyed European Championship success in Besancon last year, winning bronze and continuing a partnership that has delivered consistent performances on the international stage.
Chloe MacCombe lines up with guide Jemma Speers. Chloe has been a regular podium contender on the international paratriathlon circuit in recent seasons and delivered a strong Paralympic debut in Paris, finishing sixth.
Men's PTVI
In the Men’s PTVI category, experienced pair Donnacha McCarthy and Sean Husband will be looking to build on their strong season opener having finished fifth at World Triathlon Para Series Yokohama last month. They are established performers and part of the Irish squad that competed at last year’s European Championships in Besancon.

The Irish team arrives in Spain with confidence following a series of strong international performances over the past 12 months, including World Triathlon Para Series podiums and Championship medals at last year’s Europeans.
The team will be led by Olympian Russell White, who oversees the Triathlon Ireland Paratriathlon Programme. With a blend of experience and proven championship results, the squad will be looking to make its mark when racing gets underway on Sunday in Tarragona.
