Swim, Bike, Run! Social Hubs

Social Hubs are designed to bring together people who are interested in the sport of triathlon in a friendly, supportive, and inclusive environment. Whether you’re new to triathlon, returning to the sport, or simply looking to meet like-minded people, our Social Hubs provide an opportunity to learn, develop confidence, and enjoy being active alongside others. All Social Hub sessions are led by Triathlon Ireland accredited coaches.

Cycling - Fermanagh and Omagh | June

Women in Triathlon

As part of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council ‘Be Seen, Be Heard, Belong’ campaign, we’re inviting women to come along to a relaxed and friendly social cycle.

Whether you’re a regular cyclist or haven’t been on a bike in years, you’ll be very welcome.
What to expect:

  •  Enjoy the outdoors
  •  Boost your wellbeing and fitness

Open Water Swimming - Antrim | April to July

Social Boost Hub Open water swimming

We’re inviting triathletes to come along to our fortnightly Open Water Swimming Sessions at Moira Lakes.

Whether you’re a regular open water swimmer or looking to gain experience swimming in open water you’ll be very welcome.
 
  • Date: Tuesdays Fortnightly  From 28th April 
  • Time: 7pm – 9pm 
  • Location: Moira Lakes, Aghalee County Antrim
  • Cost: £10 per session

Equipment:

Run- gym gear but bring weather appropriate outer layers

Open Water Swim- swimsuit, swim hat and goggles (you can bring a wetsuit and tow float if you have them; otherwise they will be provided on the night)

Please note: You must be 18+, be able to swim 50m minimum and hold a Triathlon Ireland Club Training Membership or Full Membership to take part in these sessions. This is available here: Membership

To participate, you must hold a valid 2026 Triathlon Ireland Club Training Membership or Full Membership.

Insurance cover is provided only to participants who hold the appropriate membership and register in advance for each Social Hub session.

Who are these sessions for?

The Social Hubs are ideal for:

  • Budding triathletes interested in trying the sport
  • Individuals looking to experience one or more triathlon disciplines
  • Triathlon Ireland members who are not currently involved with a club
  • Adults aged 18 years and over
  • Participants of all abilities and fitness levels

There is no expectation that you complete any specific distance or time. Simply come along, take part at your own pace, and enjoy the experience!

What to expect

All sessions are coached by qualified Triathlon Ireland coaches who will meet you on arrival and be available to answer any questions.

Typical sessions include:

Bike Skills Sessions

Indoor and outdoor bike sessions may focus on:

  • Building confidence on the bike
  • Bike handling skills
  • Cornering techniques
  • Group riding skills
  • General cycling safety and awareness

Swim Sessions

Open water swim social sessions provide a safe and supportive environment to develop confidence and skills in open water.

Run and Multi-Sport Activities

Depending on the group and venue, sessions may also include running, jogging, or introductory multi-sport activities.

All sessions are tailored to the participants attending. You are welcome to take part in as much or as little of the session as you feel comfortable with.

Our Social Hubs finish with refreshments, providing an opportunity to meet other participants and continue the conversation.

What you need to bring

General

  • Comfortable clothing for exercise
  • Weather-appropriate layers

bike Sessions

  • Bike (in good working order)
  • Helmet
  • Bike shoes (if you use them) / runners

Run Sessions 

  • Runners / Trainers

Open Water Swim Sessions

  • Wetsuit
  • Tow float
  • Swim goggles
  • Swim hat

Equipment can be made available if required. Please contact us in advance if you need assistance.
