Events & Race Entry
Visit our Race Calendar to explore upcoming events. You can use filters to search by event type, location, or date.
If an event is not listed, it may not be permitted by Triathlon Ireland. Only officially permitted events appear on our website.
Select your chosen event from the Race Calendar and click “Enter Now.”
You will be directed to the event entry page where you can:
- Complete your registration details
- Make payment (if applicable)
- Add a Triathlon Ireland membership or One Day Membership if required
Your entry is confirmed once registration and payment are completed.
Log in to your Triathlon Ireland account and go to”My Race Registrations” and then select “View My Race Registrations.”
- If your event is listed, your entry is confirmed
- If not, check your email for a confirmation message
- If you’re still unsure, contact the event organiser or reception@triathlonireland.com
Not all events use the Triathlon Ireland entry system.
If you entered through an external platform, your race will not appear under “My Race Registrations.” In this case, refer to your confirmation email or contact the event organiser. The organisers details are listed under the event on the race calendar.
Participation & Policies
Each event has its own transfer policy, so we recommend checking the specific event details in advance.
If the event is using the Triathlon Ireland entry system and transfers are enabled, you can complete this through your account.
Please note:
- Transfers apply to the race entry only (no payment is transferred within the system)
- Transfers are for individual entries only
- An entry can be transferred once only
- Refunds or further transfers are not permitted once a transfer has been used
- Transfers are not available within two weeks of the event date
Triathlon Ireland memberships and One Day Licences cannot be transferred under any circumstances.
Refunds for One Day Membership (ODM) depend on how you entered the event:
- Events entered through Triathlon Ireland:
The refund policy follows the event organiser’s terms and conditions. - Events entered through an external platform:
Refund requests can be made by contacting reception@triathlonireland.com. A 7% administration fee will apply. - Upgrading to an annual membership:
If you upgrade to a full Triathlon Ireland membership, you are entitled to a refund of your One Day Membership fee.
No. Licences, insurance, and One Day Memberships are non-transferable and must be used only by the registered athlete.
Contact the event organiser directly. Transfer or refund options (if available) are set by the organiser.
Safety & Event Standards
All events listed on our website are required to complete safety planning and risk assessments as part of the sanctioning process.
If an event is not listed on our calendar, it may not be sanctioned, please proceed with caution.
If you have concerns about an event, you can contact Triathlon Ireland directly
For sanctioned events, we can work with organisers to address issues. All complaints are handled confidentially.
Inclusion & Accessibility
Many events aim to be as inclusive and accessible as possible and will outline any relevant details in their event information.
We recommend reviewing the event details carefully and contacting the event organiser directly to discuss any specific requirements or supports you may need.
Triathlon Ireland continues to work with organisers to improve accessibility and inclusion across events nationwide.
Results and Rankings
Race results and rankings are available on MyTriRanking.
You can search for your event, view individual results, and see how you rank across events and series where applicable.
Yes. You must hold a valid Triathlon Ireland Full Membership at the time of competition to:
- Earn Duathlon National Series and Triathlon National Series points
- Be eligible for National Championship titles
- Contribute to the Club Community League
This is usually because your Triathlon Ireland membership number was not linked to the race results.
Please contact events@triathlonireland.com and we will update your record.
Full details on eligibility criteria for National Championship events can be found on our website here:
https://www.triathlonireland.com/events/national-championships-eligibility/
This page outlines the requirements to compete for National Championship titles, including membership criteria and any event-specific conditions.
In circumstances where part of the race (such as the swim) cannot take place due to safety or environmental conditions, the event will still be recognised as a National Series race. Results from the modified event will count towards National Series qualification.

Getting Started
Welcome! A great place to begin is our “New to Triathlon” page.
You’ll find:
- Guidance on your first race
- Equipment basics
- How events work on the day
Equipment Guidance
A properly fitting wetsuit is essential for comfort and safety:
- It should fit snugly, especially around the neck
- Allow full range of movement through the shoulders
- Not have excess material that can cause drag
A wetsuit may feel tight when dry but will loosen slightly in the water. Avoid unzipping or adjusting it while swimming.
All helmets must meet recognised safety standards, such as:
- EN1078 (most common in Ireland)
- ANSI Z90.4
- SNELL B90
Only approved cycling helmets are permitted during events.
