The latest update for Phase Three contains changes for clubs and members nationwide, the following highlights the major changes but it is advised that the document is read in full.

  • Club training can take place with larger groups within government guidance.

  • Pool sessions can resume following the protocols in place in the venue.

Covid-19 Club Safety Officers

As required with the Phase 2 update, all Triathlon Ireland Affiliated clubs should have a Covid-19 Safety Officer appointed. It is recommended that club members, and in particular the Club Covid-19 officer, complete the Sport Ireland Return to Sport Course

If Club Covid-19 Safety Officers have any queries in relation to their role, please contact TI Head of Development and Education Niamh O’Gorman at A reminder that the Club Slack Channel is proving an important forum for discussion amongst clubs, contact Niamh if you are a Chairperson and wish to be added.

We look forward to returning to multisport racing from the 20th of July, there are over 30 races scheduled on the TI Race Calendar, which you can view here. Triathlon Ireland’s Covid-19 Event Guidelines for Organisers have been designed in conjunction with Sport Ireland, Sport NI and the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport to ensure a safe return to multi-sport for triathletes, clubs, officials, volunteers, and the entire triathlon community. This document has been updated to reflect Phase 3 changes.

The triathlon community of our clubs, individual triathletes and officials have all played a valuable part in ensuring both societies on the island of Ireland have flattened the curve of Covid-19 infection. However the infection is still present and we urge all triathletes to maintain social distancing measures and abide by the guidelines for our sport.
