Triathlon Ireland are delighted to bring Her TRIbe to Ballyhass Lakes. This is an ideal venue to introduce teenage girls aged 12 to 17 years to multi-sport. Over the course of 3 days, there will be plenty of open water swimming, and running, and some other fun events!
Under the Sport Ireland HER MOVES programme, HER TRIbe an initiative designed to empower girls and women through sports and physical activity through 8 guiding principles:
NO JUDGEMENT: Take pressure off performance and give freedom simply to play.
INVOKE EXCITEMENT: Bring a sense of adventure and discovery.
CLEAR EMOTIONAL REWARD: Reframe achievement as ‘moments of pride’, not winning.
OPEN EYES TO WHAT’S THERE: Redefine sport as more than traditional, competitive sport.
BUILD INTO EXISTING HABITS: Tap into existing behaviours in other spheres.
GIVE GIRLS A VOICE & CHOICE: Allow girls choice and control to feel empowered.
CHAMPION WHAT’S IN IT FOR THEM: Make it much more than just about health.
EXPAND IMAGE OF WHAT ‘SPORTY’ LOOKS LIKE: Create truly relatable role models who inspire.

Dates and Times:
July 22nd/23rd 10am to 12pm
July 24th 10am to 1pm
Equipment:
Wetsuit (available if needed), swim hat, goggles, comfortable running shoes & clothes and small lunch.
These sessions are open to teenage girls between 12 and 17 years, and all ability levels are welcome – please come along and try as much as you can -there is no expectation that you complete any specific time or distance, just come and try.
Step One:
Your child must hold a Triathlon Ireland membership to take part in this programme.
Parents/guardians, please register as a site-user first, then select the membership which suits your child- Youth membership (15 to 17 years) or Kid’s membership (under 14 years).
