The Youth Series, supported by AIG Ireland, brought young athletes, families and clubs together for a fantastic day of racing at the Loughrea Triathlon Festival.

The 2026 Youth National Championships saw another fantastic day of racing bringing together young athletes, families and clubs from across Ireland at the Loughrea Triathlon Festival – round 8 of the Youth Series – supported by AIG Insurance.

Hosted by Predator Triathlon Club and based around Lough Rea the festival programme included the Youth Series – supported by AIG Ireland for ages 12–17, as well as the Children’s Triathlon Festival for under 11’s.

Youth Series Supported by AIG Ireland

The eighth round of the 2026 Youth Series, supported by AIG, and the 2026 National Youth Championships – saw young athletes from ages 12-17 come together to race for round 8 of the series. With distances suited to each age category; consisting of a calm lake swim, laps of the rolling bike course and a fast, flat run alongside the lake.

The event also included the Children’s Triathlon Festival for U11 athletes giving younger participants an opportunity to experience swim, bike and run in a race-day setting, with the emphasis on participation and introducing children to triathlon.

Next stop for the Youth Series

We look forward to seeing youth athletes at Tried and Tested Triathlon Club’s Dungarvan Kidathlon & Youth Series Sprint Triathlon on Sunday 6th September in Dungarvan, County Waterford.

The final round of the series will be Pulse Port Beach Triathlon on 26/09/26 at Pulse Beach, Louth hosted by Pulse Triathlon Club for the final round of the 2026 Youth Series
