Emma O’Brien has emerged victorious in the Women’s 2023 National Series. A series which started way back in May at the Carlow Tri795 Sprint Triathlon and culminated in Ballyhass in September, a lengthy season that will inevitably test anyone’s fitness and consistency. The Triathlon National Series spans the length and breadth of the island of Ireland and is packed with some epic locations. We swam in beautiful locations such as Hook or By Crook in Waterford, and Skerries Triathlon in Dublin. We put rubber to tarmac in some epic places like Kilkee for Hell of The West, and The Lost Sheep in Kenmare.
Most importantly, there was craic, friendship, camaraderie, achievement and through it all a love for triathlon.
Emma O’Brien (Wicklow TC) wins her first Triathlon Ireland National Series Title, Aisling O’Connell (Naas TC) in second who was followed closely by Limerick TC’s Kathryn Fahy

🥇 Emma O’Brien started her year off with a win in Carlow back in May, staying through to form O’Brien never really let go of that top step all throughout the year. She picked up National Standard Distance Champion in Hell of The West along the way and won her “home” race at Base2Race Harbourman too.
This meant her lead was pretty much sealed as she finished the year at Dublin City Triathlon with a win.
🥈 Aisling O’Connell started the year well, finishing just shy of the podium at Carlow Tri795 in 4th. O’Connell bounced back quickly to get 2nd in Hook or By Crook, 3rd in Dublin City Triathlon along with a host of other good results at Pikeman, and TriAthy.
🥉 Kathryn Fahy was very close to grabbing second overall. Fahy had a string of really strong performances and hardly missed a podium chance all year. Finishing 2nd in TriAthy in June, 5th at Hell of The West in July, 2nd at Dublin City Triathlon in August, and finally 3rd in Port Beach Triathlon in September. Scoring a 5th race would of boosted Fahy’s position.
