‘Sport for All’ Club Funding Open for Applications

Triathlon Ireland Clubs have the opportunity to apply for the new ‘Sport for All’ Fund. The funding is an important step in helping our clubs become more accessible for people with a disability. Please read below to find out how your club can apply for this funding.

It is important to note that the closing date to apply for this funding is Thursday, 25th August at 5pm.

In addition to this new funding, Triathlon Ireland will be rolling out Diversity and Inclusion training for clubs free of charge in association with CARA and the Irish Centre for Diversity in October 2022.  More information on this training will be available shortly.

What is ‘Sport for All’?

As part of 2022 NGB Dormant Accounts Fund, Sport Ireland will provide a €2,000,000 ‘Sport for All’  Disability Supports Club Fund. The Scheme will be open to the affiliated clubs of Sport Ireland Recognised National Governing Bodies only.

This fund offers every club affiliated with a Sport Ireland recognised National Governing Body an  opportunity to provide inclusive opportunities for participation for people with a disability (within the meaning of the Equal Status Act 2000). It will provide funding supports for local clubs to connect in a meaningful way with their community, potentially even building the club’s own community over time through the inclusion of people with a disability in all club activities.

Sport for All Disability Supports Club Fund

This fund offers clubs an opportunity to initiate or build upon disability specific activities within their clubs. Clubs will apply directly to Triathlon Ireland for funding, and in turn Triathlon Ireland will submit an application to  Sport Ireland. Sport Ireland will not fund clubs directly.

A minimum application amount of €1,000 and maximum application amount of €5,000 is available for clubs to apply to Triathlon Ireland  for the following:

• Disability Supports Education & Training (e.g. Disability specific training and education).

• Disability Supports Programme Activation and Delivery (e.g. To initiate or expand a disability specific programme or project).

• Disability Supports Small Scale Equipment and Infrastructure, (e.g. Small scale infrastructure to support a disability specific programme or project)

Clubs should not feel that they have to apply for the maximum amount to be considered for  support.
