Zwift Winter-Spring League Rnd 5
Round 5 – London Classique
Following last week’s race against the clock, it’s back to big watt surges and fighting for position as we head to London for 28km of road racing.
The London Classique course is one of the flattest and fastest races of the league, so time your attacks well and make sure to select the most aero bike you can before lining up.
As we move in to Round 5, this week also marks the last race a newcomer can join the league with while still getting a maximum score of eight races to their name – so if any club mate is on the fence about Zwift racing, now’s the time to give them a push!
The course
Timing will be everything on London Classique – whether that means going on an all-out-break in an effort to split the group or waiting until the final few hundred metres for a maximum wattage sprint. One way or another, this is definitely a course suited to the big watt riders over the flyweights (don’t worry – if you’re a lighter rider, your time to shine will come in Rounds 11 and 12!)
Zwift Insider has a more in-depth description of the route – remember, the lead in is a full 5.7km and it’s only after we pass under the finish banner that we begin the first of the race’s four subsequent laps.
ENTER THE RACE
Enter the race directly on Zwift or the Zwift Companion App and if you’re curious about who else will be on the start line the current entry list on ZwiftPower should start updating from around 24hours before start time.
League After Round 4
Check out the current league standings following Round 4 here.
With four rounds done, the league tables are beginning to take shape – but remember, each rider counts their best eight results from the 12 rounds towards the final score so there’s still a lot of racing to come.
Note: The league table is manually compiled only once per week – this happens on Thursday mornings following the previous night’s race.
Any errors of changes that need to be made to the previous week’s table are implemented at this time as well so if you’ve been in touch with a change request during the week bear with us until the Thursday update.
New to Zwift Racing?
If you’re reading this and haven’t tried Zwift Racing yet – we strongly encourage you to jump right in! It’s a lot of fun and you’ll find lots of familiar names from the domestic scene racing alongside you in the league. Most Triathlon Ireland clubs have teams and getting started is not as difficult as you might imagine – all you need is an internet connection, a smart turbo trainer and a heart rate monitor.
Check out our Zwift Racing Start-Up guide and join us this Wednesday.
