Stephen Delaney RIP
The team at Triathlon Ireland mourn the loss of our dear friend and former colleague Stephen Delaney, who was an integral part of our team for over 12 years.
As a former elite cyclist and Rás winner, Stephen was a passionate advocate for athletes and had an insightful and innovative approach to leading the team during his tenure as High Performance Director. In particular, Stephen brought all of this experience to the team during Covid, supporting Russell White and Carolyn Hayes on their Tokyo Olympic journey in the height of the pandemic.
As a coach Stephen worked with many of Ireland’s best triathletes on their pathway to international success. A huge contributor to our sport, Stephen will be deeply missed and his contribution massively appreciated always.
Our thoughts and condolences are with Deborah, Max, Adam, and all of Stephen’s family and friends.
We will miss you Stephen.
