Beyond the Wall Triathlon and Youth Aquathlon

Young athletes invited to make a splash at Down Triathlon Club’s Beyond the Wall with new Youth Aquathlon.

5th year of Beyond the Wall Event

Now in its 5th year and firmly established on the Triathlon Ireland Events Calendar, Down Triathlon Club’s Beyond The Wall Triathlon National Series Race is looking to welcome up to 400 adult competitors on Saturday 13th June. In addition, this year for the first time, Beyond the Wall will introduce junior athletes to multisport with its first Youth Aquathlon, as part of the Triathlon Ireland Youth Series – supported by AIG Ireland.

Young people from ages 11-17 will have the opportunity to dive into multisport competition with the introduction of a brand-new Youth Aquathlon (swim – run).

Designed to inspire the next generation of athletes the Beyond the Wall Aquathlon event combines swimming in the sheltered bay of Strangford Lough, and running in the National Trust’s Castle Ward Estate grounds.

Adding a unique community element young participants have also been given the opportunity to help design the finisher medal, ensuring that this year’s event leaves a lasting legacy.
