Camida Clonmel Triathlon opened the 2026 Triathlon National Series alongside exciting Youth Series, supported by AIG Ireland racing on the Suir Blueway.
The 2026 Triathlon National Series got underway in style on Sunday the 10th May 2026, as 290 athletes descended on Clonmel in Tipperary for the Camida Clonmel Triathlon under sunny skies and warm temperatures.
Hosted by Clonmel Triathlon Club, the Camida Clonmel Triathlon featured both Youth Series – supported by AIG and Triathlon National Series racing, with competitors taking on the scenic Suir Blueway course in the heart of the town on the run route.
Race Venue and Course
Starting with a rolling start, the 750m swim took competitors downstream along the River Suir, before turning into a narrow channel leading to the swim exit at Suir Island.
The bike course headed left out of transition onto a largely fast and flat route, with one short climb at Knocklofty Hill before returning to town.
The run course followed the scenic Blueway route along the river, passing under the historic stone arches before finishing under the Triathlon Ireland arch at New Quay!
