Hollie Elliot earned her first medal of the season at the Asia Triathlon Cup Tam Chuc on Saturday, 16th May.

In the mix throughout, Elliottt posted one of the fastest run splits of the day to seal her spot on the podium. The race was won by Ayame Hayashi from Japan, with Australia’s Briana Mow coming in second, just two second ahead of Hollie Elliott.
With Olympic Qualification now in view this result signals a strong start for Elliott, as Triathlon Ireland Performance Director Gary Ryan outlines:
“Wonderful to see Hollie early season getting on the podium in Vietnam and making a significant jump in the World Rankings up to 126. That positions her well to get the race starts she needs to begin her qualifying campaign for LA which opens shortly.”
Russell White continued his 2026 campaign in Tam Chuc, coming home P13 in the hot conditions.
Gary Ryan outlines;
“Solid start for Russell as he builds through the season and gets back to racing at a world level, it’s good to see the progress his training has been indicating and look forward to seeing what’s next from him”
International action this weekend comes from the Asia Triathlon Cup Lianyungang, China on Saturday 23rd May. Follow triathlon.org for result updates.
