Triathlon Ireland are delighted to announce our 2023 Coaching Masterclass Series! If you are a coach or an aspiring coach, you will get the opportunity to hear from world class experts in their field.
The three webinars cover topics from ‘Coaching the Performance Pathway, with TI Performance Director Gordon Crawford, Strength and Conditioning with Jonathan Harris-Wright, Head of Performance Servies with Sport Ireland Institute and Nutrition and Body Composition with Professor Sharon Madigan, Head of Performance Sport at Sport Ireland Institute.
WHO CAN ATTEND?

masterclass 1 - October 11th - Gordon crawford 'Coaching the performance pathway'

Gordon Crawford
Before joining Triathlon Ireland as Director of Performance, Gordon was the Swiss Triathlon National Elite and U23 Coach.
During his time there, he was involved with a string of successes for Swiss triathletes and led a process of cultural and operational change in his role as Director of the National Training Centre for Triathlon.
In our first Masterclass webinar on October 11, we speak to Triathlon Ireland Performance Director, Gordon Crawford on ‘Coaching the Performance Pathway’. Gordon will talk about his personal approach for athlete development, touching on talent ID and sharing experiences from his own coaching career.

masterclass 2 - october 18th - jonathan Harris-Wright 'integrating s&c successfully'

Jonathan Harris-Wright
Jonathan has worked as a professional Strength and Conditioning Specialist in elite sport for over a decade. His experience in elite sport spans Rugby, Football (GAA), Field Hockey, Badminton, Gymnastics and Triathlon.
On October 18th, the focus shifts to Strength and Conditioning, an ever-popular topic with all our coaches. We speak to Jonathan Harris-Wright, Head of Performance Services at Sport Ireland Institute about the importance of S&C and how to integrate S&C sessions successfully into an already busy training schedule.

masterclass 3 - october 26th - sharon madigan 'nutrition and body composition'

Sharon Madigan
Head of Performance Sport at the Irish Institute of Sport. With significant experience as a clinical dietitian and a PhD in Nutrition Education.
Sharon is responsible for the delivery and coordination of nutrition services for elite Irish athletes across a range of Olympic and Paralympic sports. She has delivered nutrition support to athletes over five Olympic cycles (Athens, Beijing, London, Rio and Tokyo).
Our final Masterclass webinar on October 26th looks at nutrition and body composition. Prof. Sharon Madigan, Head of Performance Sport at Sport Ireland Institute, looks at the importance of correct nutrition practice as part of the training plan and the links between nutrition and body composition and nutrition and bone density in both male and female athletes.
