Triathlon Ireland Receives 2023 Sport Ireland Funding

Triathlon Ireland has received confirmation from Sport Ireland of the High Performance Programme funding for 2023.

High Performance Programme Funding is provided to National Governing Bodies to support the delivery of their performance programmes. This funding supports a range of activities including training camps and competitions, pathway development, performance services and performance team salaries.

The Triathlon Ireland High Performance programme will receive €250,000 for 2023.

In recognition of their ambition as they head into the Olympic and Paralympic Qualification period, four Irish athletes will receive funding. At World Class level for 2023 are Chloe MaCombe and Catherine Sands, and Carolyn Hayes. Russell White and Donnacha McCarthy with Sean Husband will be at International level for this year.

Crawford Outlines Plans

This announcement is welcomed by Triathlon Ireland, and will be used across the High Performance Programme, as outlined by Triathlon Ireland Performance Director Gordon Crawford;

I am delighted with the Sport Ireland funding announcement for Triathlon Ireland. 

The Sport Ireland support will ensure we can investment in athletes, coaches and clubs in the development of the Performance Pathway. The High Performance Team is especially pleased for the support which will enable us to deliver on our ambitious targets set after Tokyo, but more importantly leading into Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028.
