Weekend Wrap: Triathlon National Series & Ian Manthey in Holten

Another weekend, and another bumper weekend of racing at home and abroad!
The Triathlon National Series
Rounds 10 and 11 of the Triathlon National Series took place over the weekend, in Clare and in Wicklow.

On Saturday, the Triathlon National Series returned to the iconic Hell of the West hosted by Limerick Triathlon Club in Kilkee.
As always, the challenging standard distance course provided some super racing, with clubmates Shauna Doellken O’Shea and Ronan Costelloe winning their home race.

In Wicklow town on Sunday, the ever popular Base2Race Harbourman Triathlon also returned for the first time since 2019.
Almost 400 people took to the water for the Base2Race Harbourman standard distance triathlon – a 1,500m swim in the deep water off Wicklow Harbour, a rolling 40km out and back bike and a challenging 10km run which includes the infamous harbour steps!
Alex Van Buttingha Wichers and Ciara Wilson were ahead of the rest, taking two strong victories.
