A: From 2025, Triathlon Ireland introduced automatic membership renewal to make the renewal process easier and ensure members don’t lose access to insurance, race eligibility, and other benefits.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Automatic renewal will not come into effect until the 2026 membership year, which begins in October 2025.

  • Members will be notified well in advance of renewal. You’ll get a reminder before any payment is taken.

  • If you joined a club and received the discounted rate in 2025, you’ll pay the same discounted rate in 2026.

  • You can opt out at any time through your Triathlon Ireland account. Just go to My Account > Membership and untick the auto-renewal box.

You’ll also see this option clearly during the checkout process when purchasing your membership.

If you have any questions, contact us at reception@triathlonireland.com and we’ll be happy to help.

Q: How to transfer a race entry to another member

A: The race transfer system is in place through your TI account. This means that you can transfer your place to your friend with just their TI number and you can sort out the funds yourself then. *Triathlon Ireland does not manage the race funds when transferring a race entry.

Please follow the below steps:

  1. Go to your race registrations on your TI account and select the race
  2. Under ‘Race Transfer’ enter the TI number of the athlete you are sending your place too
  3. Once the person accepting the transfer logs into their TI account they will receive the alert and they can accept the transfer

Q: How to access your ODM purchase

A: There are two ways to view your One Day Membership (ODM) on your account;

View My Race Registrations (Race using TI Entry System);

  1. Log into your Triathlon Ireland Account
  2. Click on the ‘View my Race Registrations’ tab
  3. Click on the event name
  4. Click ‘Download ODM’

View My ODM Purchases (Race NOT using TI Entry System);

  1. Log into your Triathlon Ireland Account
  2. Click on the ‘View my ODM purchases’ tab

Q: How to enter a relay team

A: For any relay event, one member of the team will need to have Triathlon Ireland Race Membership or purchase a One Day Membership and the other participants will need to have a Triathlon Ireland number.

To get the Triathlon Ireland Number for the participants, they will need to register for a Triathlon Ireland account . By signing up, the participants will not need to purchase any membership but they will then have a TI number.

Once each participant has a TI number, you will then enter this upon registration for the race, not the participants name and purchase the One Day License if a member of the team does not have a full membership. One full membership or one ODM per team is required for Insurance purposes.
