2/02/2022: Covid-19 Training & Events Update

Following the updated Public Health Measures announced by the Government on Friday, 21st January, the Triathlon Ireland Covid-19 Return to Training Protocol and Event Guidelines for ROI have now been updated.

While some precautions remain, restrictions on our clubs and events have now been removed. This includes the removal of maximum numbers for races or training sessions and the requirement for social distancing. The COVID pass is also no longer necessary for indoor training.

This is extremely welcome news to Triathlon Ireland but also to all of our clubs, members and event organisers, all of whom have adapted over the last two years and worked hard to stay connected while keeping each other safe.

Triathlon Ireland has recorded the busiest January for membership in the history of our organisation. Clubs are back to what they do best – swimming, cycling, running and creating memories that make sport meaningful. Dozens of events are already taking entries and the Duathlon National Series is well underway. Triathlon is ready for a great year in 2022.

What has changed?

To summarise; key changes to the advice in relation to sport and physical activity are as follows:

  • Formal requirements for social distancing removed;

  • Capacity restrictions for indoor sporting events removed;
