Wolfe and O’Connell on Top at Moby Dick

It was down to Cork for Moby Dick Triathlon – Round 10 of the BMW National Series on a glorious Saturday in September. A weekend of sunny skies, quick dismounts and sprint line finishes, saw local club Cork TC top the podium for both male and female overall winners.

The Sprint distance race, held on the beautiful four mile sandy beach in Youghal, Co. Cork, was hosted by local South Coast Triathlon Club.

Race Organiser Richella Ryan said although she reduced the attendance down from its customary 500+, staging the event in 2021 was a highlight:

” I am just delighted to have the race going ahead this year, with the 180 athletes that are racing today. We could have sold the race 3 or 4 times over but the athletes here today will enjoy a safe and fun race”.
