Youth Series: Round 2 a Riot of Colour

Round 2 of the Youth Series supported by Costcutter was hosted by Triangle Triathlon Club as part of the Aquathlon National Champs at the Lake at Kilrea.

In a lake filled with colour and inflatables, we saw our 12 – 13 , 14 – 15 and 16 – 17 year old Youth Series athletes battle it out before the ultra fast run around the same lake.

Up first at 8:30am was the 12 – 13 year old’s. Cheered on by Russell White, the first group of Youths set out to swim 400M followed by a 2K run. Luke O’Doherty and Aoibheann Ryan from Tried & Tested Triathlon Club were first over the line.

Next up was the 14 – 15 age group, who ventured on a 500M swim and 3K run. Noah Harris and Maeve Mc Clean were first over the line for the 14 – 15 age groupers.

Our 16 – 17 year olds were up next before the National Aquathlon Champs. A 750M swim and 3K run saw Olivia Moore of Cavan Triathlon Club and Alex Sargent of Pulse Triathlon Club cross over the finish line in first place.
