Introducing: Transform Together

Transform Together is a long term strategy for triathlon in Ireland with a vision that will to move our sport to an exciting, new place.
The plan lays out a pathway for achieving a series of goals. Taken together, these goals will increase the reach and depth of triathlon in Ireland.
As the name suggests, the plan has ambitious targets to transform the landscape of our sport across events; mass participation; youth development; coaching, diversity and inclusion; high performance; and clubs and members.
Background
The plan is the product of hundreds of hours of consultation with clubs, ordinary members, high performance athletes, under-represented groups, coaches and race organisers. It aims to empower everyone involved in our sport so that we can move it to the next level together.
CEO of Triathlon Ireland, Darren Coombes says this consultation was massively valuable in shaping the vision and key strategic themes.
“This is a plan for our community, driven by our community, with clubs remaining at the heartbeat of the organisation.”
“Our sport can empower and challenge people to transform themselves beyond what they previously thought possible. We want to ensure more people from all backgrounds have access to our sport and have the opportunity to transform, together.”
Mr Coombes added:
“At times over the past 18 months, it has been challenging to think and plan long-term, with so much short-term uncertainty. As our community emerges from a really challenging two years, this plan represents a guiding star for all of our ambitions – and this plan is ambitious. We want to build on the success and growth of triathlon in Ireland over the past decade, embedding the sport in our communities and ensuring its sustainability with a renewed focus on youth development and inclusion.”
