Always wanted to try a triathlon, but not sure where to start? Kildare based triathlon clubs Athy TC and Naas TC are hosting a triathlon training programme for beginners in partnership with Kildare Sports Partnership, and it starts on the 8th of June.
Kildare Sports Partnership have also teamed up with Deaf Sports Ireland, which means there will be an ISL Interpreter in attendance at all training sessions.
The Details
Kildare Sports Partnerships New to Tri programme is being run in collaboration with Athy TC and Naas TC. This 6 week programme will see participants follow a training plan and take part in 2 coached sessions per week. The programme will finish with a Try a Tri event in Athy where participants will have the opportunity to put all their training together and get that race experience.
This programme is also being run in collaboration with Deaf Sports Ireland, meaning there will be an interpreter available at all the training sessions and the Try a Tri Event.
Anna Deegan from Kildare Sports Partnership outlines how important the programme is for the organisation;
“This is very exciting for us and means we can open this programme up to people in the deaf community and enable them to get involved. This is extremely important for Kildare Sports Partnership as we aim to break down the barriers to sport and give everyone an opportunity to take part.”
