02/06/2021 – Update to ROI Return to Training Protocol

Triathlon Ireland have updated the Return to Training Protocol for Clubs and Members in the Republic of Ireland ahead of the reopening of pools and indoor sessions from Monday, 7th June 2021.

When the Government Guidelines change on Monday, the following will be possible:

  • Outdoor sports matches can recommence. No spectators are permitted.
  • Gyms, swimming pools, leisure centres can reopen for individual training only.
  • Outdoor training for adults and under 18’s  in pods of a maximum of 15 can continue.
  • Outdoor sports facilities can remain open (for example: pitches, golf courses and tennis courts, other facilities as appropriate).

What does this mean for Clubs & Members?

Clubs around the country will be looking forward to recommencing pool sessions – which can take place from Monday, 7th June while adhering to the guidelines outlined in the Return to Training Protocol.

Outside of organised club training sessions, Triathlon Ireland members must continue to adhere to all public health guidelines. This currently means that outdoor distanced sport for adults can continue and members can train alone indoors in gyms and pools following the health protocols in place at the venue.
