Zwift Winter-Spring League: Rnd 11 Results

Round 11 – the Volcano KOM After Party course…the clue’s in the name! Two cruising laps before tackling the KOM at the end of the second, it’s a leg burner for sure.
Almost 300 riders took on the Volcano last night. Shoutout to the category winners of Round 11 on one of the toughest courses in Watopia – Enda Bagnall, Colm Bellew, Helen Perry, Aiden O Connor, C. Farrell, Stephen Smyth and Kim Campbell!
Next week it’s the finale, the big one, ALPE DU ZWIFT, and we CAN’T WAIT! With 1,444m of climbing over the 20km iTT – get those legs ready!
LEAGUE TABLES
These tables are of Triathlon Ireland riders only but we rely on you to tell us this fact through club affiliation – we have a whole section on how the table is calculated and what to do if you don’t see your name on this page – just scroll down to the bottom of the article.
For riders who were WKG’d, UPG’d or upgraded by ZwiftPower – please note that these are automatic decisions made by ZwiftPower which Triathlon Ireland has no authority over. If you get in touch with us, we will do our best to explain what can sometimes be a confusing scenario but before you do that please read Zwift’s FAQs which has the technical explanations for all of these decisions and will likely do a better job then we can.
A LEAGUE INDIVIDUAL MEN
Position | Name | Club | Points |
1 | Enda Bagnall | Eden TC | 488 |
2 | Adriele Prina | Belpark TC | 415 |
3 | Mark Farquhar | TriLimits TC | 409 |
After taking a break last week, Enda Bagnall was back and in winning form! On the Volcano After Party last night, Bagnall came home first in the A race and took another 61 point haul in the process. Bagnall’s spot at the top of the league has been fairly secure for quite some time, but he shows no letting up!
Adriele Prina holds on to second – improving his total by two points last night after finishing 5th, will those two points be enough heading in to the final round however? Last night Prina was beaten to the line by Mark Farquhar with a gap of just one second, a result that sees Farquhar narrow the gap from eight to six points. It could be calculator time next week after Alpe d’Zwift!

Position | Name | Club | Points |
1 | Claire Dillon | Pulse TC | 456 |
2 | Gail Martin | Lisburn TC | 453 |
3 | Helen Perry | TriLimits TC | 419 |
Helen Perry snatched her first win of the league last night, crossing the line 10secs ahead of second placed Gail Martin.
Perry stays in third but has closed the gap to second which Martin now occupies.
The big mover from the Women’s B League however is Clare Dillon. Dillon completed her minimum eighth race last night and with it added 51 points to her total, rocketing from second to first overall!
But her lead is only three points which means we could have a winner takes all scenario on Alpe d’Zwift next week!
B LEAGUE INDIVIDUAL MEN
Position | Name | Club | Points |
1 | Oliver Harkin | Newry TC | 439 |
2 | Colm Bellew | Fingal TC | 414 |
2 | Kevin Derrig | Pulse TC | 394 |
Colm Bellew won a hard dash for the finish line last night to bolster his claim on second place overall in the Men’s B League.
Oliver Harkin’s lead might have narrowed last night after he came home in 4th place but mathematically speaking he’s got this one in the bag.
In third place, Kevin Derrig completed his eighth race of the league and surplants Gary Condell who sat out last night.

1 | Peter Blissett | Cork TC | 473 |
2 | Pat Linehan | Piranha TC | 376 |
3 | J. Healy | Lanesboro TC | 362 |
There was plenty of action in the Men’s C League on Volcano After Party but in the end it resulted in just a slight change in the totals and no change in the overall order.
Kevin Blissett’s unassailable total stays on 473, Pat Linehan extends his lead over J Healy by two points.
The action next week could well come from back in the pack – where at least six riders lie within striking distance of the podium and all have the opportunity to supplant a lower score with a good performance – watch this space!

With one round left, changes to the leadership nearly every week and never more than a handful of points between the top three, there is just ONE POINT separating first from second!
Whoever reaches the top of Alpe d’Zwift is likely going to take the whole league next week.

Position | Name | Club | Points |
1 | Louise McGirl | | 431 |
2 | Maeve Galloway | Down TC | 425 |
2 | Miriam Grogan | Piranha TC | 425 |
Welcome to the league Kim Campbell! Kim won last night’s race with a very strong ride. Miriam Grogan was the best of the top three and moves from third to joint second with Maeve Galloway.
Louise McGirl stays top after finishing in 4th last night but with just a six point lead, the Women’s D League is another that looks likely to be won or lost on the final round!

Position | Name | Club | Points |
1 | Kevin Hughes | TriLimits TC | 468 |
2 | Keith Ryan | Mako TC | 450 |
2 | Stephen Smyth | 3D TC | 419 |
Kevin Hughes bolstered his league lead with second place overall last night, his margin is now 18 points – technically not enough to guarantee him overall victory just yet but sufficient enough to mean that a decent ride will see him take the league on Alpe d’Zwift.
Keith Ryan stays on 450 points while last night’s winner Stephen Smyth looks safe on 419 points in third.

RESULTS
You can see all the race results and dig in to the in-depth data on the race’s ZwiftPower page.
In contrast to Triathlon Ireland’s autumn league, the 2021 Winter-Spring League does not have its own page on Zwift Power. Instead we are compiling the individual and club rankings ourselves – this is being done to ensure we can allocate points equally to men and women.
The same scoring criteria apply from our previous league: (with women and men assigned points separately).
1st : 61 points
2nd : 56 points
3rd : 51 points
4th-50th : 49-3 points
Every finisher from 51st onwards will receive 1 point.
The team competition pulls points each week from a club’s best five riders – unlike the Autumn League however once each week’s club score is finalised it can’t change of a rider subsequently changes teams.
The same will apply to riders who manage to earn an upgrade during the league – if you move up a category, you cannot take your already earned points with you as this would not be fair to your new rivals in your upgraded cat.
WHY AM I NOT THERE?
If you don’t see your name on either the ZwiftPower race results sheet or the Triathlon Ireland league standings here are some leads to follow up:
FILTERED RIDERS
ZwiftPower will ‘filter’ (aka exclude) any results from riders for a number of reasons, the most common being the absence of a heart rate monitor, a verified power meter or those who entered a power category below their ability/exceeded the W/kg for the power category they entered.
These are automated decisions based on power and made by ZwiftPower not Triathlon Ireland.
While Zwift racing is primarily about having fun, we have a responsibility to ensure that any race that carried our name is also fair so unfortunately if you were excluded or ‘filtered’ it is for a legitimate reason. Filtering is an automatic, data based decision by ZwiftPower designed to ensure an above board race.
We know it can be heart breaking when your HR monitor or Power Meter data fail you in a race but view it like having a mechanical that causes you to pull out of a real life race – it’s unfortunate but not grounds to have your result re-instated.
LEAGUE TABLES
If you are missing from the Triathlon Ireland League Table it is likely for one of two reasons
– You are not assigned to a Triathlon Ireland club on ZwiftPower
– You are not assigned to Triathlon Ireland on ZwiftPower
Only riders assigned to a Triathlon Ireland club or to Triathlon Ireland (as a club) will be included in the results sheets. If however you are a Triathlon Ireland 2021 member and have been left off for these reasons, drop us an email – we are happy to re-instate you. Please email roisin@triathlonireland.com.
Only riders assigned to a Triathlon Ireland club will be added to the Club Rankings tables.
