Gold for MacCombe & Speers in Alanya

Chloe MacCombe and Jemma Speers have won the Women’s PTVI at the World Triathlon Para Cup Alanya.

A new pairing this season, this is their first victory together. Their partnership has built across the season, starting with fifth at the European Triathlon Para Championships Tarragona, sixth in their two World Para Series starts in Hamburg and Montreal, and seventh at the World Championships in Pontevedra.

Speaking after the race, Chloe gives her run down of how their day unfolded;

"Final race of our first season together and we're starting to see things take shape as a pairing! Despite a non-wetsuit swim we got into the mix with the rest of the PTVI women and put in a smooth performance. A fast bike course brought us up a few positions, Jemma handled the technical aspects superbly! A hot run brought us up to top spot and held it to the finish! Still plenty to work on as a pairing but it was an excellent, and hard fought result to finish the season."
