Results & Gallery: Bocquet & Wyer Win Loughrea 2026
Predator Triathlon Club’s Loughrea Triathlon Festival took place on the shores of Lough Rea in County Galway on Sunday 2nd August – playing host to the 12th round of the Triathlon National Series.
Triathlon National Series Sprint Race
Following the Youth Series, supported by AIG Insurance races, competitors in the Triathlon National Series Sprint race began making their way to transition beside the lake to prepare for the 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run.
Conditions were good for racing, with just a light drizzle but temperatures remained warm. Lough Rea was flat and calm, with little wind, providing conditions for a fast race.
The Sprint course consisted of one 750m loop in the lake, followed by two 10km laps of the rolling bike course and a flat 5km run alongside the lake.
