Williamson Poised to Perform in Men’s PTS5
Tom Williamson has had a breakthrough season in 2025, most recently with a personal best performance securing silver at 2025 World Triathlon Para Series Montreal. Having been on the podium in his last three starts, these results will have given Tom confidence heading into Worlds.
Williamson has his sights set firmly on a podium; speaking before the event Tom said:
“It is a privilege to represent Ireland at a World Championship.”
“Moments like these, wearing the Irish trisuit on the biggest stage, I will never take for granted. Heading into the race after an already successful season. My fitness is there, my belief is there. I only want one thing.”

Judith & Chloe MacCombe Making Waves in Women’s PTVI

Paralympians Judith MacCombe and Eimear Nicholls have had a solid season thus far, scoring their first World Para Series bronze in Taranto in June, and following that up with third at the Europeans in Besancon.
Looking ahead to Wollongong, Judith commented:
“Eimear and I are both looking forward to racing at the World Championships in Wollongong. The build into this race hasn’t been smooth sailing, however I know the lessons we learn from racing at this level will be very valuable as we move forward into next season and towards LA 2028. Always grateful to the team around us and supporting us.”
Having started her season back in February at Abu Dhabi World Triathlon Para Cup, Chloe MacCombe looks ahead to Wollongong;
“It’s been a challenging year, but I’m proud to be on the start line at Worlds. That alone is a huge win for me.”
Paris Paralympian MacCombe has had a successful summer with two podium finishes at World Para Series Montreal in July and most recently third spot at World Para Cup Alhandra. Chloe will be guided in Australia by Aoibh Clarke.
