World Triathlon has confirmed that the 2026 World Triathlon Championship Finals will take place in Pontevedra, Spain, from 23–27 September 2026.
This prestigious event will bring together the world’s best triathletes, with opportunities for Age Group athletes to represent Ireland across multiple race categories: Sprint, Standard, Aquabike, and Mixed Relay.
These Championship Finals are the highlight of the triathlon season, offering a unique chance for Irish athletes to compete on the international stage and proudly wear the Tri Team Ireland kit.

If you have raced in any of our National Championship races and placed in the top 5 of your age group you have automatically qualified to race for Tri-Team Ireland in 2026.
