Turner Wins Men’s 2023 Triathlon National Series

Tight at the top! The Men’s 2023 Triathlon National Series came down to the final few races of the season and an athlete who wasn’t shy of a podium in 2023, Colm Turner, emerged the victor. Five points shy of the lead, Anthony O’Brien finished in second with Lochlainn Connolly rounding out the top three.

Turner, also came out of this year as National Middle Distance Champion, so it really was a great season. Piranha Triathlon Club’s Anthony O’Brien picked up his first win at TriAthy along with podiums at Harbourman, Pulse Port Beach and Hell of The West! Invictus TC’s, Lochlainn Connolly only scored in 4 races but his results were there to back it up, winning Crooked Lake, Dublin City Triathlon and Pikeman, while finishing second in Carlow Tri795 at the beginning of the season!

🥇 Colm Turner

Wins the 2023 Triathlon Ireland National Series. It was a really great season by Turner who emerged as National Middle Distance Champion by winning at Lost Sheep. The Lost Sheep is one of the more sought after trophies amongst triathletes in Ireland. Before that though, Turner had already won Base2Race Harbourman in August and within the month of September had achieved a podium nearly every weekend, 1st – The Lost Sheep, 2nd –  Pulse Port Beach, and finally 2nd – Ballyhass Triathlon.

🥈 Anthony O’Brien

Finishes just shy of the top step in the men’s 2023 Triathlon National Series. O’Brien opened his scoring by winning the TriAthy National Sprint Championships in June. He was also on the podium in 3rd at the National Standard Distance Championships, thus looking like an athlete who can deliver on the day of a championship.

🥉 Lochlainn Connolly

Rounding out the podium in third place. The Invictus TC athlete only scored in 4 races, but he made sure they counted! Winning Crooked Lake Triathlon, Dublin City and Pikeman, and a second in Carlow Tri795 at the beginning of the year. A fantastic season!
