Covid-19 Training Update for Northern Ireland

Covid19 Update Graphic

From tomorrow, 27th November 2020, the Northern Ireland Executive has issued new restrictions for Northern Ireland for a two week period.

What does this mean for triathlon training?

The Return to Training Protocol has been updated to reflect the new guidance, and should be downloaded by clubs and members for reference.

As per Government Guidelines:

  • Indoor and outdoor sport is not permitted, other than at elite level.
  • Elite sporting events must be held behind closed doors without spectators.
  • All sports facilities such as leisure centres and gyms, swimming pools, tennis courts, golf courses, fitness and dance studios must close.
  • Individual/household outdoor exercise and school PE can continue. Physical activities such as walking, running, cycling, horse riding, or just walking the dog, bring many health benefits.

Triathlon Ireland club sessions cannot take place, members are permitted to train alone.
