National Aquathlon Championships 2018 – Preview
This year’s National Aquathlon Championships will take place on Sunday, 13th May at Bull Wall in Dublin as part of the Base 2 Race Pulse Triathlon Club Aquathlon Festival.
The event will feature three National Championship races, Seniors, Juniors (16 – 19 years old) and a Youth (15 – 17 years old) race. The ages for the Junior and Youth race are determined by the age of the athlete on 31st December 2018.

The race takes place in the iconic area of Bull Wall, overlooking the Poolbeg Chimneys across Dublin Bay. A 1000m sea swim with a flat and sandy out and back beach run of 5km will be on the cards for the adult and junior championships. The youth race will take place over a shorter 500m swim and a shorter 2.5km out and back run, with an earlier turnaround than the 5km race.
The Adult Super Sprint race will use the 500m swim course and the 5km Run course along the beach and will be well suited to newcomers to the sport looking for an achievable swim distance in a safe environment.

The Base2Race Pulse Aquathlon is taking place on Bull Island, which can be accessed via the ‘Wooden Bridge’ from Clontarf, Dublin. See the maps below for further details.
