Triathlon Ireland is delighted to announce the Leinster date for the Regional Post Primary School Championships.

The Leinster Championships will take place on Sunday, 6th May in K Leisure Centre, Naas, Co Kildare. Event start time will be 09.30 am.

Post Primary School students from around the province will compete across four age categories (listed below).

This is a competitive event which will encompass individual and team races with awards for top finishers and teams in each category.

The swim will be pool based with the bike course being held  within the grounds of the estate on tarmac.

The run course will be be staged within the grounds of the estate for all age categories and will be a mix of tarmac, gravel and grass.

Race distances are detailed below in swim/bike/run format.

Schools and parents can enter athletes from each category. Entries will be on a first come basis until our maximum numbers are reached. A reserve list will be created and athletes will be included if places become available.

Progression to National Championships

The Regional Post Primary School Championships forms part of 3 other Regional Qualifiers. The top 3 male and female athletes from each age category (Minor, Intermediate, Junior and Senior) race will be selected to compete at the National Post Primary School Championships in May 2018. Date and Location will be announced in the coming weeks.

Age Categories

You must be under the age category on the year of the competition. E.G. If you are 14 years old in 2018 then you have to compete in the Junior Under 15 category. If you turn 14 on 2019 then you are eligible to compete in the Minor Under 14 category.
