Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport
Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport is a national, year-round campaign run by the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit to raise awareness of the important role parents play in keeping their child safe and happy in sport. As part of the campaign this year the CPSU ask parents to think and learn about three key areas of being involved in their child’s sport: Getting Involved, Being Supportive, Keeping Children Safe.

Get Involved:
Our club children officers are volunteers, many of whom are parents. Club safeguarding personnel are integral to the club structure by ensuring safe recruitment of coaches and volunteers, safe practices at sessions and a child centered environment in the club. The TI safeguarding team can help you to get trained up to be a Junior assistant in your club.

Keeping Children Safe:
One of the ways we are supporting parents to ensure their clubs are safe is by asking them to look out for our Safeguarding poster on their club website, socials or newsletter (ROI Poster, NI Poster). This poster will provide key contacts in the club, links to policies and reporting contacts. Clubs will display this along with their Child Safeguarding Statement. TI also has tips to support parents on our website HERE.
