Refresher Course
The Safeguard 1 refresher course is for those who have attended an initial face to face Safeguard 1 of Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport.
This is a free course created by Sport Ireland and Sport Northern Ireland.
The face to face qualification expires after 3 years and the refresher course can be completed to update the qualification.

This can be done after 3 years and is valid for 3 years at which point a face to face course should be attended again.
WHO NEEDS TO COMPLETE SAFEGUARD TRAINING
Safeguard 1/Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport: Anyone who will be in regular and continuous contact with junior athletes (under 18).
Safeguard 2/Designated Safeguarding Children’s Officer: Club Childrens Officer.(Must complete Safeguard 1 first).
Safeguard 3: Club Designated Person. (Only available in ROI.Must complete Safeguard 1 first).
