WattFest 2022 – League Wrap

Round 10: Tempus Fugit

Last night riders went against the clock in a repeat of the opening round of WattFest more than two months ago. With spring now firmly in the air, the time trial was an excellent chance for riders to see how far they’ve progressed since early winter (a fair bit we hope!).

Quickest riders on the night were Gary Cummins and Elaine Lally in the B Cat; Sinead McHale and Adam Lovett in the C Cat; and Steven Ring and Lorraine Gillespie in the D Cat.

Round 10 Race Results

WATTFEST 2022 OVERALL

Now, on to the overall standings.

Men’s Cat B

After 10 weeks of racing WattFest the final results were still incredibly tight – not least in the Men’s Cat B.

With three wins, a second and two third place finish Oran Kane won the overall. Tied for second and only 22 points behind him were  Quinton Bourke and Alan Glover.

Women’s Cat B

Zwift league regular Beáta Kis was incredibly strong throughout WattFest22 and took the women’s Cat B over Omagh TC’s Lucy McDermott. Third place goes to Elaine Lally.

Cat B Club Competition

Omagh TC brought the numbers and the watts to win the B Cat club competition ahead of Lanesborough and Pulse.

Women’s Cat C

Some exceptionally strong riding from Sinead McHale sees her take the Women’s Cat C crown over Helen Howe and Joanne Howard. Just a single point separated second from third!

Men’s Cat C

Six wins was plenty for Ciaran Reynolds who came out ahead of Graeme Kidd and Adam Lovett. This was another close run thing with 16 points separating first from second and just two between second and third.

Cat C Club Competition

Lanesborough win the Club Cat C contest with 1,843 points from 22 results. Second place goes to Omagh with TriLimits not far behind in third.

Men’s Cat D

Four wins and two second places secured first place for Mark Mimnagh in the men’s Cat D. Behind him, Steven Ring edged out the ultra consistent Niall Byrne for second place.

Women’s Cat D

Lorraine Gillespie won the women’s Cat D following a fierce battle over ten weeks with Kate Hession and Louise McGirl – just eight points separated first from third!

Cat D Club Competition

The TriLimits peleton captured the D Cat Club title with a haul of 1,500 points from 17 results. Lansborough claimed second from 11 results and the efforts of Pulse’s sole rider Niall Byrne was enough to see the club finish in third.
