Launching the Evolve Club Standards Programme

Belpark_Hook or by Crook 2018

Triathlon Ireland is pleased to launch the new ‘Evolve Club Standards Programme’ to identify, develop, accredit and recognise high quality triathlon clubs and the contribution that they make to the development of sport in Ireland. We value the essential and significant role that our clubs play in the development of sport, they provide outlets for participation for a range of abilities, are a gateway to the sport of Triathlon, while also providing quality environments for talented young athletes to develop.

The Evolve Club Standards Programme is for all clubs, junior and senior, that have an established committee, a recognised constitution and has a membership offer open to everyone no matter their sporting background.

WHY COMPLETE THE EVOLVE CLUB STANDARDS PROGRAMME?

All Evolve Club Standards Clubs are recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for all participants to be involved in the sport of triathlon throughout their lives. An Evolve Club Standards club has reached a level of accreditation that helps parents and carers identify the right club for their young people.

These clubs are  recognised nationally by National Governing Bodies, Local Sports Partnerships, Local councils  and other external stakeholders as having met their Governing Body standards in providing a club structure that is well managed, is safe and has an active programme of events for its local community for all members to enjoy.

An Evolve Club Standards Club will have achieved a number of set criteria in the following areas:

  • Club Management and Governance

  • Activity Programme/Competition

  • Knowing Your Club and Community

  • Duty of Care and Welfare

  • Safeguarding (junior clubs only)

A club which has completed the Evolve Club Standards Programme will have met criteria in each of the above to be awarded accreditation at one of three levels Gold, Silver and Bronze.

CLUB ACCREDITATION LEVELS

Club Standards accreditation is structured into 3 levels; Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each of these levels has a set criteria that must be met in order to attain the corresponding accreditation status. For full details on each level, visit our website here.
