We’re looking to recruit a a Community Development Triathlon Coach based in Leinster.

Contract Duration: 

One year, ongoing contract funding dependent.

Hours:

Part time – 20 hours per week, must be available some evenings and weekends.

Based:


Leinster – travel required. Applicants must have their own vehicle and a full clean driving licence.

Euro 20,000

Triathlon Ireland are seeking a Community Development Triathlon Coach to lead on the development of the sport of Triathlon in through targeted school and community programmes.

The post holder will implement a programme in line with the Triathlon Ireland’s Strategic Plan to deliver the Development Operations Plan.

We are looking for:

A qualified triathlon coach (other qualifications will be considered) with: 

    • Experience of project management across multiple projects,
    • Experience of providing coordination and administrative support across a small team and the wider organisation,
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills,
    • Budget management experience,
    • Experience working in the Public Sector / Sports Sector.

Qualifications

Minimum Level 1 World Triathlon coach or equivalent. Other coaching qualifications and experience will be considered.

Project management or similar.

Relationships

You will report to the Triathlon Ireland Head of Development.

Close working relationships with Triathlon Ireland Development Team, Women in Sport Lead,  Operations Team, National Pathways Coach and Community Coaches.

role and responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead on programme development and delivery in line with the agreed action plan.
  • Delivery of triathlon development programmes with a view to developing interest, linking participants to established triathlon clubs/groups and developing new clubs/groups where need exists.
  • Deliver against membership generation KPI’s.
  • Establish, coordinate and manage the delivery of Triathlon Ireland programmes (New to Tri/Try-a-Tri programs, inclusion programmes, Boost Hubs, Triathlon Camps, training events, social hubs, Tri Heroes  and Tri Captains).
  • Design and deliver targeted interventions to engage specific key target groups with established low participation rates including asylum seekers, new communities, ethnic minorities, young people, women/girls, at-risk youth, people with disabilities etc. 
  • Identify potential feeder schools for clubs, and initiate interaction with schools. Prioritise schools for a triathlon development programme (Tri Heroes) and as required deliver these programmes.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders such as leisure facilities and schools.
  • Identify appropriate venues for course programme delivery.
  • Support and communicate with the wider Triathlon Ireland development team.
  • Partner with the Marketing Communications and Media teams to effectively communicate projects and programmes with the network and the wider  triathlon community.
  • Monitor, evaluate and review the projects being delivered.  
  • Comply with, and actively promote, Triathlon Ireland policies and procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety and safeguarding requirements and legislation in accordance with Triathlon Ireland policies and procedures. 
  • Keep abreast of current and emerging trends and developments within the triathlon community and the Irish sports sector.
