Young Athletes Shine at National School Duathlon Championships

Narraghmore, Co. KildareThe 2025 National Primary and Post Primary School Duathlon Championships took centre stage on April 27th, bringing together Ireland’s brightest young multisport athletes in a thrilling contest of endurance and spirit. Held as part of the Flat Out Youth Duathlon Series, the event was hosted by Athy Triathlon Club and marked the first round of Triathlon Ireland’s Youth Series, supported by AIG Insurance. The rural roads of Narraghmore were transformed into a vibrant arena, where students competed in run-bike-run duathlon formats tailored to their age groups. With a focus on accessibility and participation, the championships celebrated athletic potential at every level while also awarding the highest-performing schools.

🏆 Post Primary School Results

  1. St Augustine’s College, Dungarvan – A standout performance from Aoibheann Ryan, Aimee Ryan, Aaron Connor, Sian Cunningham, and Aaron Hayes secured the top prize for the Waterford-based school.
  2.  Scoil na mBraithre, DungarvanKevin and William McNally represented the school with determination and consistency to earn a well-deserved second place.
  3. Ard Scoil na Mara, TramoreThe team of Amelie Power, Anna and Millie Brett, Dylan Blackett, and Aoibhinn Byrne displayed grit and camaraderie to take third.

  1. Gaelscoil Philib Barún, Tramore – This dominant team performance from Amy Storey, Conor and Aidan O’Brien, Darragh Hayes, Aoibhinn O’Brien, and Aoife Hayes clinched the primary title.

    1. Scoil Ursula, SligoOliver and Grace Foley brought pride to the northwest with a strong finish.
    2. Rathbane National School, BallinaRoxane and Koa Sands powered through the course to secure a shared second place.
