Triathlon Fun Day with Wexford Special Olympics
Family fun day hosted in wexford
Triathlon Ireland recently teamed up with Special Olympics Wexford and Sports Active Wexford to host a fantastic Triathlon Fun Day, celebrating inclusion sport and community spirit.
The event welcomed athletes of all abilities to come together to try out new activities, and experience the excitement of triathlon in a fun and supportive environment. From start to finish, the smiles said it all – it was a day filled with laughter, encouragement and personal achievement.

A celebration of inclusion
The aim of the day was simple: to make triathlon accessible to everyone. With the support of Triathlon Ireland coaches and volunteers, participants took part in a series of fun triathlon style sessions, designed to build confidence and inspire a love for multi-sport.
Events like this help to:
- Create opportunities for everyone to experience triathlon;
- Build confidence and fitness in a friendly, relaxed setting;
- Showcase how inclusive and welcoming the triathlon community is.

Looking Ahead
Following the success of this event, Triathlon Ireland and Special Olympics Ireland are already planning more opportunities to get involved.
Upcoming programmes include a 6 week New2Tri Programme and Monthly Social Training Hubs; and in the works for the coming year – continuing the mission to make triathlon open, inclusive and fun for everyone.
This is just the beginning of an exciting partnership, and we can’t wait to welcome even more athletes to experience the fun of triathlon.
