Results of the Duathlon National Series 2022

Ciara Wilson and Anthony O’Brien have won the 2022 Duathlon National Series, and what an incredible series it was!

Over the first four months of this year, hundreds of duathletes braved the often less than ideal weather to run, bike and run. Returning for the first time since 2020, the atmosphere at this group of races was second to none. Congratulations to all the race organisers, clubs and volunteers!

Scoring is based off an athlete’s best two Series results plus their National Duathlon Championships result.

Wilson Unstoppable

Ciara Wilson kicked off her 2022 multisport season in style, with an unbroken run to win this year’s Duathlon National Series.

Wins at both Galco Naas Duathlons as well as her second National Duathlon Championship on the bounce secured the series for Ciara Wilson. Wilson also won at Athy Flat Out Duathlon in convincing style. Waterford Triathlon Club’s Diane Behan is in silver medal position, and Jennifer O’Sullivan bronze.

Just a Few Points In It

After four months of racing, there was only 11 points separating the top two in the Men’s Duathlon National Series. A win at Athy Flat Out Duathlon and strong performances at Naas and the National Champs means that Anthony O’Brien is the winner of the Men’s 2022 Duathlon National Series.

It’s 2021 National Champ Paul Carroll in second. With wins at Metalman and Naas, it came down to the 2022 National Champs in the Phoenix Park to decide the series winner.

Tried & Tested club members Marc Flavin takes bronze on 2079.594 points.
