New to Tri? Start Your Triathlon Journey with triathlon ireland
Have you ever wanted to give triathlon a go – but weren’t sure where to start? Whether you’re a complete beginner, or have experience in another sport such as swimming, cycling or running, or a Triathlon Ireland member who’s not involved with a club, our New to Tri (New 2 Tri) programme is the perfect place to begin.
Designed with first-timers in mind, these six week programmes offer a welcoming introduction to triathlon. You’ll get hands-on experience with the core disciplines – swimming, cycling, and running – with guidance, structure, and a fun community atmosphere along the way.
The final week even includes a mini triathlon-style event so you can put your new skills into action!
Each weekly session includes a mix of bike, run track, and pool-based training. Details of everything you’ll need to participate is listed below.

Women in Sport | One Day Training Camp - Trim April 2026
Join us for an empowering 1- day Triathlon Training Event led by expert coach Miriam Wall and supported by Midlands Triathlon Club.
What to Expect:
The day is designed specifically for women who want to sharpen their triathlon skills and build confidence in a supportive, fun environment.

Women in Sport | Spring Triathlon Training weekend - Galway APRIL 2026
Triathlon Ireland are delighted to announce an exclusive weekend-long Women’s Spring Triathlon Training Camp supported by Galway Triathlon Club on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April 2026.
What to Expect:
Train with a experienced coach, Miriam Wall who understands the unique needs of female athletes. Gain valuable race-day insights, and connect with an incredible community of like-minded women.
Whether you’re a first-time triathlete or a seasoned competitor, this camp is tailored to meet your needs in a supportive, social, safe and empowering environment!

New to triathlon 8 week Programme - Belfast march / april 2026
Triathlon Ireland are bringing their 8 week New to Triathlon Programme to Belfast this March and April.
What to expect:
This programme is specifically designed for complete beginners, those returning to the sport and those who are new to one or more of the disciplines (swim, bike, run).
Programme Schedule:
Andersonstown Leisure Centre- 7pm to 9pm- Spin and Swim
- Monday 23rd March
- Monday 30th March
- Monday 13th April
- Monday 20th April
- Monday 27th April
- Monday 11th April
Bike Confidence Sessions- meet at House of Sport Car Park- 9am on Sunday 19 April and Sunday 10 May.
Plus a weekly run session set for you by our coaches to complete at a time that suits you.

Triathlon Ireland are excited to launch a weekend Women’s Spring Triathlon Training Camp in Belfast 28th February – 1st March 2026.

Beginner-friendly swim, bike, and run with supportive coaching. Build confidence, make friends and get ready for your first triathlon!

Join our 5-week New to Duathlon Programme, designed exclusively for women, in a fun, friendly and supportive environment in Carlow. Led by experienced Triathlon Ireland Community Coach, Lara Dillion.

- Build confidence, fitness & friendships
- Learn the skills to take on your first duathlon

Thursday, 12th February – Thursday, 12th March between 6pm and 7.30pm for six weeks.
