MSc Research Opportunity with WIT

Triathlon Ireland, in partnership with Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Masters Student to receive research funding in order to investigate and evaluate the delivery of virtual events.
The Project
The research project will investigate the impact of virtual event delivery, online tutor training, online education, and race organisation & technical officiating in comparison or in conjunction with in-person training and events. The partnership with WIT will allow for a fully funded research masters student to conduct the research with experienced supervisors from the third level institute.
This project will be lead by Roisin MacCarthy, Project Executive Triathlon Ireland and Dr Cíara Losty, Waterford Institute of Technology.
Triathlon Ireland, in partnership with WIT, has been successful in its application to the Sport Ireland Research Fund with a research project to investigate the impact of the virtual events space under the participation research strand. The project is one of 17 to be funded by Sport Ireland and provides an opportunity for sporting bodies to undertake research on issues that are relevant to their own unique contexts. A full list of the awarded research projects can be found here.
