Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon welcomed over 2,000 athletes for its 12th year of racing on the weekend of the 25th & 26th of May. Athletes from all over Ireland made their way to the West to take on the scenic routes on the grounds of the iconic Lough Cutra Castle for a weekend of endurance sports.
Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, excitement and motivation levels were high from the start line to the finish line, with cheers & support from friends, families & fellow club members.
The athletes braved the open water swim which fluctuated between 15.2 – 15.9 degrees and pushed through the wet weather conditions to meet their supporters at the finish line and celebrate their accomplishments.
Joanne Murphy & Peter Jack were the voices of the weekend, motivating the athletes, reporting on the races and maintaining a vibrant atmosphere all weekend.
The weekend concluded with the 3rd Youth Series of the season, with fearless youth and junior athletes aged between 9 – 17 years joining the action on the castle grounds.
Let’s dive into the results!
