7/05/2021: Covid-19 Triathlon Events Update

As we move closer to triathlon events returning nationwide for the first time this year, Triathlon Ireland would like to provide an update for both Republic of Ireland (ROI) and Northern Ireland (NI) events.
ROI EVENTS
As per last week’s Government Announcement, outdoor (non-elite & club) matches and competitions may recommence in the Republic of Ireland from the 7th of June, without spectators.
Triathlon Ireland are currently in consultation with Sport Ireland as regards finalising the Covid-19 Events Guidelines and the capacity requirements for events. Once these guidelines are finalised, Triathlon Ireland will inform our Race Organisers, Clubs, Technical Officials and the wider triathlon community.
NI EVENTS
It is currently possible for fully sanctioned Triathlon Ireland events to take place in Northern Ireland with up to 100 people in attendance. This number includes both participants and all event staff. No spectators are permitted to attend.
For the full Covid-19 Event Guidelines for Northern Ireland, please download them here.
GET IN TOUCH
Updates on individual events will be communicated to all participants by the Race Organisers. If you have a query on an event, please contact the Race Organiser in the first instance. The Triathlon Ireland events team can be contacted at events@triathlonireland.com.
We appreciate that our entire community is excited to return to multisport racing in 2021, and Triathlon Ireland will endeavour to provide further updates as soon as is possible.
