Thanks to Letterkenny Triathlon Club for producing the following race report for the Sheephaven Triathlon held on June 28th. Congratulations on a great event!
Win for Donegal on Saturday! 🎉
Mark McGinley & Helen Perry win Sheephaven Half race in Downing’s.
You don’t come to Downing’s for an easy race – this is probably one of the hardest, hilliest races in the country, and we’re very proud to have hosted it for the last 8 years.
This was the first time in 8 years that a local man has won this race, and the 247 Letterkenny Club is so proud of Mark McGinley.
2nd place: Donal Sheehy (AMS Triathlon)
3rd place: Conor Maguire (Omagh TC)
Superb results from these athletes—hope to see you all back next year!
Women’s Race Highlights 👩🦰🔥
The women’s race was won by Helen Perry, who also won in 2022 & 2024. A fantastic performance by Helen, who posted the fastest bike and run splits among the women’s field.
2nd place: Mary Hearty
3rd place: Rebecca Carr, a truly fantastic performance.
