Para Triathlon Virtual Talent ID

Do YOU want to be the next Paralympic hopeful?

Here at Triathlon Ireland, we are hosting our first ever Para Triathlon Virtual Talent ID programme. This is a unique chance to be part one of the fastest growing para-sports in the world!

How it Works

No previous experience of Para Triathlon is required to take part in the Virtual Talent ID programme.

All you need to do is complete a combined 400m pool swim followed by a 1,500m track run, preferably on a track or if outdoors on a flat out-and-back course.

Then send us the results, including any data files from the sessions.

All submissions will be examined and replied to.

If we think your session times fit within the parameters of what we are seeking, we will take the process to the next step.

Who Can Take Part & Some Tips

The Para Triathlon Virtual Talent ID programme is open to athletes aged over 14 across any World Triathlon para triathlon sporting class.

We do not want athletes to train specifically for this challenge, instead, complete the tests as part of your normal training regime.

Only one submission per/athlete allowed, so please make sure you are happy with your results before submitting.

These results WILL NOT qualify you for any national or development team/funding. However your results may be considered as the basis of an invitation for training camps or team development training days.

Timelines

Triathlon Ireland’s virtual Talent ID process will start on March 20th and will finish on May 20th 2023.
