Zwift Winter-Spring League Rnd 2
Round 2 – Draft Legal Racing Begins
After the opening time trial on the Bologna course, the draft-legal element of the Triathlon Ireland Zwift Winter-Spring League begins in earnest this Wednesday on two undulating laps of Astoria Line 8.
The course around New York’s Central Park appears flatish at first glance, but don’t let that fool you – each of the two laps takes in 141m of elevation, providing some classic opportunities for those who want to split the field and drop their rivals.
You can enter the race directly on Zwift or the Zwift Companion App and if you would like to plan your race strategy, ZwiftInsider has a useful guide including a map and elevation graphics
League After Round 1
The league after Round 1 reflects the performances in the individual time trial – but following consultation with our female riders, we have removed Cat E. From Round 2 onwards, all riders will start according to Category (male and female riders together) but will be ranked separately using the following scoring system:
1st female & 1st male Cat A-D : 61 points
2nd female & 1st male Cat A-D : 56 points
3rd female & 1st male Cat A-D: 51 points
4th-50th female & 1st male Cat A-D : 49-3 points
Every finisher from 51st onwards will receive 1 point.
Ahead of this week’s race, we will distribute all female riders scores from Round 1 in to Cats A-D.
New to Zwift Racing?
If you’re reading this and haven’t tried Zwift Racing yet – we strongly encourage you to jump right in! It’s a lot of fun and you’ll find lots of familiar names from the domestic scene racing alongside you in the league. Most Triathlon Ireland clubs have teams and getting started is not as difficult as you might imagine – all you need is an internet connection, a smart turbo trainer and a heart rate monitor.
