WattFest Round 3

We’ve got a new course (to Triathlon Ireland’s Zwifting at least) for Round 3 of WattFest as the games move to Suki’s Playground and another short-ish Wednesday night hit out.
Expect 20-40mins of racing on the undulating course that takes you over some of the freshest scenery on Zwift.
The Course
ZwiftInsider describes Suki’s Playground as ‘rather flat’ and while the maximum gradient is only 4.6%, that probably doesn’t do justice to the tricky locations of the two climbs on Wednesday’s race route.
After a downhill start, the first climb rears up after 6km and lasts 2km to the Castle Area before a gradual descent takes you back to the bottom of the climb once more.
The final stretch tackles the initial castle area approaches for a second time before hanging a right and descending the final kilometre to the line. At high speeds, knowing when to put your nose in the wind will be crucial if the race comes down to a sprint.
But that if is part of the intrigue with Suki’s Playground – this is one of the newest routes on Zwift and so a clear consensus on the best race strategy hasn’t been established, with so much descending in this race, the right breakaway on either of the climbs could easily stick all the way to the line.
ZwiftInsider has most of the details you need to know on Suki’s Playground while some more detailed route specs are on RideWithGPS
