Introducing the ‘Try a Triathlon’ Club Programme

Triathlon Ireland has recently launched the new ‘Try a Triathlon’ programme, to encourage more people to join their local club and to aid clubs in running these programmes. So far six triathlon clubs have successfully applied for funding – Athy Triathlon Club, Glin Triathlon Club, Mallow Triathlon Club, Naas Triathlon Club, South Coast Triathlon Club and Triangle Triathlon Club.

Keep an eye out in your local club for a Try a Triathlon beginner programme!

For Clubs: About The Programme

This year, Triathlon Ireland hope to introduce triathlon to more people around Ireland than ever before, and we want our clubs to be central to that! This programme, along with the associated grant, will introduce new people to our sport and new members to our clubs.

We hope as many clubs around the country as possible will be part of this exciting initiative which will include access to training plans and resources to assist clubs set up and run Try a Triathlon programmes.

Grant Support

There is an opportunity to apply for a grant to support your club Try a Triathlon programme for 2021. An important part of the ‘Try a Triathlon’ programme is helping our clubs introduce triathlon to the wider community, and reduce some of the barriers to participation in the sport.

Full details of the programme, the grant and some FAQs are available in the Try a Triathlon Information Document, download here.

Your club can apply for a grant, all club committees have been emailed the application form.

We hope that our clubs will take this opportunity to make triathlon more inclusive, and introduce new communities to swim, bike and run!
