Zwift Autumn League – Round 3 Results
With three rounds of the Zwift Autumn League completed, the league standings are taking on a recognisable shape but there’s little to separate the leaders.
Exactly 400 riders are now on the league table and a record 307 lining up last night for the four lap race around the Seaside Sprint circuit. With some inclines and more than a few scenic distractions to deal with, the race gave plenty of chances for riders to get dropped or pull ahead before that puke inducing sprint to the finish line!
The league is now three rounds in with six to go, so we are reaching the stage where scoring opportunities start to become limited – remember the best six results count to the league when it concludes in December so if you know someone who wants to take part – next week is the last chance to start and get the full quota or races done.
Everything they need to know is in the Zwift Quick Start Guide.
Results
The full results from Race 3 are on the event’s ZwiftPower page.
ZwiftPower also has the overall detailed individual and club leaderboards for all cats from A to D.
The Zwift Autumn League is open to riders across the world – this is one of the exciting and unique aspects of Zwift racing. On this page, we filter out the non-Triathlon Ireland members and clubs/teams to give an overview of the community competition in the Zwift Autumn League.
Why Am I Not There?
If you are unsure of how ZwiftPower applies its scoring system, scroll down to the bottom of the page, which is also where you’ll need to go if you were one of the 60 riders who were ‘filtered’ from last night’s event. This is a pretty high number of filtered riders – the majority were for HR – the absence of Heart Rate data – this can be fixed people! Connect your HR next week cause we want you in the results sheet!

Analysis
The top three remain the same in the A-league, although Eden TC are closing the gap on Lisburn. We’ve expanded the league table this week so you an see all teams – Belpark do look to be pulling away but from 2nd to 6th it’s really still all to play for.

Analysis
No change in the club standings for the top of the B League but the gaps remain tight.
After their jump from 3rd to 1st last week, 3D Triathlon Club consolidated their position, adding a fifth scorer Stephen Short to the team of B League leader Simon Befort, Kevin Gilleece, Neal Leddy, B League women’s leader Beáta Kis.
Just 46 points back in 2nd, Belpark have narrowed the gap on last week and showed their strength in depth by fielding two new riders in their five man team of Mark Cannon, Ashley Hayes, MICHAEL BISHOP, Luke McMullan and Andy Grehan.
Piranha’s club drive for riders continue with five riders scoring this week, although they were hampered by the absence of last week’s points getter Eric Boles. Instead the legwork literally fell to Stephen Cawley, Dave O’Shea, Giuseppe Ghidini, David Bray and Stephen Eustace.

Analysis
After bouncing from first to third last week, Lisburn rocket back to the top of the C League, thanks in part to a club restructure and some fresh legs in the form of Björn Ironside, Veronica Powell and David Jennings. Staying in Lisburn’s scorers Lewis Murray and Brendan StoneLTC both put in impressive performances to leave the club with a solid lead over second placed Belpark TC.
Belpark fielded an almost all changed roster of scorers and gained 150 points with Eric Gasparro, Reuben Whelan BTC (38 pts), Alan Heade (25 pts), Teri Kelly BTC (1 pts) and Alexandre Helenport (1 pts).
An absolutely tiny margin of 11 points separate Belpark from Pirahna in 3rd place – this is definitely a league to watch as the weeks unfold since like Lisburn and Belpark, Piranha have enormous depth in their team with new riders Conor Holligan and Collie O’Neill joining last weeks scorers Paul Mooney8387 (35 pts), Darragh Kitt (32 pts) and Adele Hall PTC (1 pts).

Analysis
The tightest of all the league tables and one with plenty of churn from last week. After leading in week 2, Edenderry find themselves back in third place with Belpark now taking the lead by 28 points with contributions from Diarmuid Furey (51 pts), Cleo Jensen (41 pts), Tomás O Connell (37 pts) and Barry Clifford BTC (28 pts).
Lisburn TC’s five rider team has them right behind Belpark in 2nd place with Andrew Dempster (56 pts), John Torrans (33 pts), Andrew Vaughan (LTC) (26 pts), Jeff Curry (24 pts) and Kerry McCaughan (21 pts).
Just one point back in third are last week’s leaders Edenderrry TC – their three person team of Alan Mitchell (45 pts), Priscilla Crombie (42 pts) and Jolene Craig (19 pts) actually scored more this week but with fewer riders than the top two, Edenderry were unable to net as big a points haul.
ZwiftPower’s Scoring System
Zwift racing differs from what we’ve all come to expect from in-real-life triathlon racing.
Clubs
While the league is open to everybody, the club rankings in this race report only take Triathlon Ireland clubs in to account. If you are one of the many riders who had their club listed as ‘Triathlon Ireland’ you won’t be included in the club rankings.
However it’s simple to set your up a profile for your local triathlon club on ZwiftPower and use it for your future races.
In fact, this is something we’d urge you to do.
Gender
ZwiftPower applies points to riders according to their position in the race – regardless of gender. This isn’t an ideal points solution and is something we’d like to see changed (so that women have a completely separate points allocation). However, we are working within the confines of ZwiftPower, which while imperfect is an incredibly powerful platform in other respects so bear with us.
Filtered Riders
A relatively large number of riders were ‘filtered’ or excluded from the results sheet for various infringements. The two most common were HR (having no heart rate data) and ZP (not having a verified power meter.
While Zwift racing is primarily about having fun, we have a responsibility to ensure that any race that carries our name is also fair so unfortunately if you were excluded or ‘filtered’ it is for a legitimate reason. Filtering is an automatic, data based decision by ZwiftPower designed to ensure an above board race.
